The C-2 Greyhound Replacement is Coming

One of the oldest aircraft employed by the United States Navy on its aircraft carriers will soon be bidding us farewell.The turbopropped, decked C-2A Greyhound, produced by Northrop Grumman in the 1960s, will be replaced by the CMV-22B, which will enter service in 2024.In today’s video, we are going to cover the technical features and advantages the CMV-22B has over its predecessor.

The first time fixed-wing aircraft have flown from a Japanese battleship since World War II occurred on October 3 when two Marine Corps F-35B Lighting II Joint Strike Fighters took off and landed aboard Japan’s biggest cruiser, JS Izumo (DDH-183). Boeing has been awarded a $32 million contract by the US Army to remanufacture AH-64 Apache attack helicopters

The Boeing Co., Mesa, Arizona, was awarded a $32,577,153 modification (P00082) to contract W58RGZ-16-C-0023 to incorporate a directed change order for the remanufacture of twelve Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopter and six-part numbers for the tail rotor blades. Work will be performed in Mesa, Arizona, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 1, 2024. Fiscal 2021 aircraft procurement (Army) funds in the amount of $33,040,693 were obligated at the time of the award . U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contract ing activity. The Boeing AH-64 Apache is an American twin-turboshaft attack helicopter with a tailwheel-type landing gear arrangement and a tandem cockpit for a crew of two. The SA 321 “Super Frelon” (Super Frelon) is a three-engine medium multi-purpose helicopter developed by the French state-owned Aerospace Industries. It is developed from the smaller SA 320 “Wasp” helicopter . Birth History The “Super Hornet” was developed in 1960 by the French state-owned Aerospace Industries Corporation at the request of the French military. The first prototype, a troop transport version, flew for the first time on December 7, 1962. In July 1963, It set multiple helicopter world records. The second prototype, a naval version stabilizing pontoons on the main landing gear struts, flew for the first time on May 28, 1963. Subsequently, four more pre-production models were built.
